TDLR COMPLIANCE

Here is the link to the Private Property Study:

REPORT FROM THE TOWING, STORAGE AND BOOTING ADVISORY BOARD
NEXT MEETING WILL BE JUNE 9TH

You will find a link to the Tow Fee Study and Recommendation. This subject will be posted for the next Advisory Board meeting on June 9th.  A recommendation of a “CAP” for towing fees specifically on private property tows must be put into the rules as it is required by law by September.
After the recommendation is made on June 9th, the CAP will be published and sent out for comment in the Texas Registry for the 30 day required period of time so all will be able to comment on the recommendation. TDLR is going to post the study, too, and will have an email to send comments.

Please study the information and give your opinion of what you feel may be “flawed” in
the study and what the solution is or any additional information
that should have been considered.
We are on a short time line. The next step after publication will be for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations Commission to make the “final” decision. This will probably be at their meeting in August as it is not scheduled yet. This is the most important decision that is being made concerning our industry. We need to be professional in our approach and give good “solid” information concerning the costs of doing business as a private property towing company.
If you do a percentage of pp tows then you need to calculate that percentage toward costs.  The Towing, Storage and Booting Advisory Board members are taking this very seriously as we do all our decisions and do appreciate TDLR’s decision to allow the industry time to study the document and have input before a final decision is made.
As been shown by TDLR, they are listening to the industry and your remarks, comments and concerns are being heard. With good documentation, this issue can be of a great value to the public that we all serve and to the good professional companies that work every day to take care of their customers. Become engaged in the process in a positive way!!

Sincerely,
Jeanette Rash
