Thomas Bower "Tuffy" (1946 - 2009)
Thomas "Tuffy" Bower, 62, passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Webb Baptist Church, 6600 S. New York Ave., Arlington, with Chaplain Harold Elliott officiating. Interment: Johnson Station, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Tommy was born Dec. 6, 1946, in Fort Worth to Jess and Dorothy Kelley Bower. He was a longtime resident of Fort Worth, Arlington and Webb. Tommy was raised in Handley and graduated from Eastern Hills High School in 1966. He worked for Moore Funeral Home for several years where he served as manager of the ambulance fleet. He was a resident of Arlington for 14 years and former vice president of American Bank of Arlington. Tommy owned Rae-J's Convenience Store and Bait Shop in Webb for several years and was the recipient of the Community Award from Webb Masonic Lodge. He moved to Poolville nine years ago and owned and operated Bower Services and TCAR Corp. He was on the board of directors for Texas Towing and Storage Association for many years.
Survivors: Loving wife and best friend, Linda J. Bower; sons, Shawn Lee Smelser and Thomas Dillon Parker; daughters, Staci Lynnette Roberts and husband, Duane, Tammy Killough and husband, Jerry, and Mandie Renee Oliver and husband, Lawrence; brother, Terry Bower and wife, Barbara; sisters, Linda Kelly and Robyn McMahon and husband, Robin; grandchildren, Lauren Roberts, Chris Roberts, Kyle Killough, Evan Killough, Devin Smelser, Alexis Johnson and Nelson Oliver; great-granddaughters, Haven and Molly; and business partners and best friends, Tom Parker and Gary McKnight.
Tommy Bower was TTSA’s Repossession Representative.  He passed away Monday after a long battle with cancer.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
