Stay Report.....

On a recent return visit to Amarillo Jeni Ferril booked me into the Ashmore Inn & Suites for two nights. First impressions were excellent and for a medium priced business hotel, my stay was pleasant and I will return.

Entering town from the east via Interstate 40 or from the airport, take exit 72A. For those travelling by air the hotel offer airport shuttle service. The hotel is on the north service road just past the American Quarter Horse Center. Hotel signage is excellent. The rooms are well appointed and the corridors light and airy, the hotel in general is very clean and well maintained. For those arriving early, the hotel provides a complimentary Happy Hour Bar with light refreshments.

A light breakfast of cereals, waffles breads, etc. along with juice and coffee is provided in the breakfast room.

The hotel is strictly smoke free in public areas and is limited to 8 smoking rooms. Like many hotels they impose a $50 fine for those violating this house rule. For those who wish to smoke, there are other hotels nearby. Among others, the La Quinta and the Hampton Inn are just across the highway.
